Backflow Preventer Assembly Testing & Repairs

"Providing Safe Drinking Water Protection, Cross Connection Solutions, and Unsurpassed Consumer Confidence"

Cross Connection is any unprotected actual or potential connection between a public or consumer's potable water system and any other source through which it is possible to introduce any used water, industrial fluid, gas or substance other than the intended potable water with which the system is supplied.

Under Public Law 99-339 - the Safe Drinking Water Act Amendment of 1986 - (Prop. 65) and regulations of most states require the water purveyor to establish cross-connection control programs to prevent backflow (backsiphonage, backpressure) conditions (pollutant or contaminant) of potable water.  This includes either the elimination of all cross-connections OR requires installation and maintenance (annual testing and inspection) of a proper type of approved backflow prevention assembly at the water service connection whenever a potential hazard is determined to exist in the consumer's system.

Advanced Backflow Solutions offers testing, repairs, inspection and installation of all types of backflow preventing devices, including annual maintenance programs.  Our dedication to clean water, advanced cross connection equipment and a healthy environment is unprecedented in the industry.

Backflow is the undesirable reversal of flow of water or other liquids, gases or other substances into the distribution pipes of the potable water supply.

Backpressure Backflow is the reversal of flow in a system due to an increase in the downstream pressure above that of the supply pressure.

Back-Siphonage Backflow is the reversal of flow in a system caused by the negative pressure (vacuum or partial vacuum) in the supply piping.

Pollutant is a substance within a water system which does not constitute a health hazard, but does impair the quality of water in respect to odor, taste or utility.

Contaminant is a substance within a water system which does constitute a health hazard; the consumer being subjected to potentially lethal water borne disease or illness.

The five basic products used for protection from cross connections are:

  1. Air Gap
  2. Atmospheric Vacuum Breaker
  3. Pressure Vacuum Breaker
  4. Double Check Valve Assembly
  5. Reduced Pressure Zone Assembly
